Key Stage One (KS1), which includes Year 1 and Year 2, is a significant bridge between Foundation Stage and Upper Primary. We ensure a smooth and supportive transition during this stage of your child’s Primary education. In Year 1, there are elements of play-based learning from EYFS as they adjust to the formal aspects of learning and routine in Primary.
The children have the opportunity to develop their learning independently as they have access to continuous provisions within the classroom and around the school, including our educational garden. Our tailored curriculum is based on the National Curriculum and we encourage students to make connections in their learning. In KS1, students will learn to think independently, build resilience and self-confidence to meet challenges in their learning.
