I am delighted to be leading Smart Vision School through its journey to excellence.
An Australian from the sunny Queensland coast, my family and I have been privileged to live and work internationally for the past twenty-three years in some of the world’s leading British and IB International Schools. My recent local experience includes Founding Principal of The Alpha School, Deputy Principal of Gems International School and Primary Principal of Ajman Academy.
With a Master of Applied Linguistics in addition to Arts and Education Degrees, my particular specialisms lie in the areas of Early Years and Primary Teaching, English as Additional Language and Japanese Language. More recently I achieved recognition as a certified Apple Professional Learning Specialist (Visionary Leader) and have led the integration of technology and iPads in outstanding technology-driven schools.
As a then Japanese Language teacher, my husband, our three children and I embarked on our international adventure to Japan when they were ages seven, five and two. Here, they were fully immersed culturally through local educational contexts. Though not without its challenges, the experience was life changing and we all now have a deep appreciation of cultural diversity and global-mindedness.
Consequently, retention and development of mother-tongue is core to my personal educational philosophy and the vision of Smart Vision School. I am also excited to witness the implementation of purposefully planned technology to excite, engage and empower our Smart Vision students in their personal learning journeys.
My true belief lies in the value of a learning environment in which students have the confidence, curiosity and creativity to lead their own learning. I believe that first and foremost, students must feel secure in their personal identities and valued for their individuality. Smart Vision School is a community of love and belonging. Our students are led to question the world around them and consider and value the belief and cultural systems of themselves in equality to those of others. It is through this approach that true, relevant and impactful learning evolves.
I very much look forward to joining and supporting you and your children on that journey.
Head of Primary
I was born in Inverness, Scotland but became a travelling expat at the age of 4. Since then I have lived in countries all over the world. I went to boarding school at a young age and completed my degree in Cheltenham, England. After a brief taste of teaching in London I knew I wanted to return to the United Arab Emirates. Since then I have been fortunate to work and gain experience teaching and leading in all year groups in primary. This breadth of experience especially in leadership over the past 16 years has led me to develop a strong belief that children learn best when they are having fun and are engaged in practical and challenging activities.
I also believe that strong relationships with parents and the wider community are vital for ensuring that children are supported as they move through their school life. I am delighted to be working together with students, staff, parents and governors and everyone else involved in Smart Vision School ensuring our children’s success, achievement and well-being. Out of school, my two teenage boys are in boarding school in Scotland. As a family we are passionate about travel and experiencing new cultures around the world. I look forward to seeing you in school and working with your children at SVS.
Head of EYFS
I am delighted and proud to be the Head of Early Years at such a fun, inclusive and vibrant school. I believe that every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support that enables them to fulfil their potential. Every child is unique and is born with the ability to develop if they are given the chance during childhood.
I passionately believe children learn best through play, Play is the means through which children find stimulation, well-being, and happiness. It is the utmost importance for us to offer children a safe, enabling and fun environment for them to learn as well as build relationships.
Their growth physically, intellectually and emotionally and their general wellbeing is at the heart of the school’s focus. Our learning environment is well suited to meeting children’s needs for all types of play, building upon first-hand experiences as much as possible. I look forward to working in partnership with our staff and parents to offer the children the best learning experience possible throughout the Early Years.
I am delighted to be a part of such a brilliant and hardworking team, wherein every employee envisions to be a companion in Smart Vision School’s continued success. Born and raised in India, I completed my Bachelor’s in Engineering before I started my career in UAE in 2004. Since then, I have worked in corporate companies like TUV Nord, Golden fountain and WS ATKINS as Quality Administrator/Auditor.
Through my journey, I have gained knowledge and experience in Quality and Safety Management Systems. We at Smart Vision School believe that with uninterrupted planning and monitoring, we will be able to provide your child with the best in Academics, Safety and Well-being.
