Inclusion and learning support

At SVS Dubai, inclusion sits at the heart of our values. We believe that every child is unique and deserves to feel welcomed, valued and supported within our school community. We are proud to provide an environment where all learners can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

The Bridge Learning Centre

Certified partnership

A key strength of inclusion is the on-site partnership with The Bridge Learning Centre (TBLC), an alternative pathway for students with profound and complex needs, registered with the Rahaal Programme.

This partnership strengthens our ability to offer flexible, personalised pathways that place each student’s progress, wellbeing and sense of belonging at the centre.

Individualised attention

Learners accessing TBLC benefit from highly individualised teaching within a specialist environment designed to meet their needs and support their progress. At the same time, opportunities to connect with the wider school community help nurture confidence, friendships and a strong sense of belonging.

Where appropriate, students may also join mainstream classes for parts of the school day, including registration and selected specialist or core lessons, creating a balanced and inclusive experience.

Individualised attention

Comprehensive support

The TBLC also enriches the wider school community by providing:

  • Screening for children, supporting early identification of additional needs
  • On-site specialist therapies, including Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and Developmental Psychology
  • Collaborative partnerships between therapists, teachers and families, ensuring consistent and coordinated support
  • Opportunities for inclusive interaction, helping students build independence, resilience and social connections.
Comprehensive support

Personalised learning

Students within TBLC follow a personalised timetable designed to develop both academic and life skills. These include frameworks  to carefully assess, monitor and celebrate progress such as:

  • ASDAN, which focuses on independence and life skills
  • Verbal Behaviour Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP)
  • Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills (ABLLS).

Bespoke Bridge classes

Children work on a 1:1 or 1:2 ratio with staff, in a class of approximately 8 students. The class is led by a qualified SEN teacher along with key therapists. This robust multidisciplinary approach skilfully blends therapeutic intervention with schooling.

We aim to encapsulate best practice from clinical disciplines, alongside the high standards of the British National Curriculum.

Excellent English support

At our British curriculum school in Dubai, the diversity of languages and cultures within the community is valued and celebrated. Students who are English Language Learners are supported with care from the very start of their journey, beginning with an initial assessment through the Oxford Placement Test to identify their level of English proficiency.

  • Targeted interventions

    Targeted interventions

Students at Pre-A1 to A1 levels receive focused support through targeted English and phonics instruction, adaptive teaching approaches and supportive classroom practice. Translation support in Mathematics and Science enables students to participate, understand key concepts and continue making progress.

  • Gamified empowerment

    Gamified empowerment

All ELL students have access to our ‘Nessy’ programme, an engaging platform that develops reading and spelling skills through fun, gamified phonics activities. They can access Nessy both in school and at home to support accelerated language development.

  • Support plans

    Support plans

Students assessed at Pre-A1 level also receive a personalised ELL support plan, monitored by the ELL teacher, who provides both in-class (push-in) support and targeted small-group interventions (pull-out) where needed.

A culture of belonging

At Smart Vision School, our staff are passionate about creating a warm, nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every child feels seen, heard and supported.

Inclusive community

Students of Determination are warmly welcomed, with a commitment to ensuring that no child is denied access to education because of a diagnosis. A personalised approach recognises each learner’s needs, strengths and interests, supported by high-quality teaching and targeted intervention where needed.

In-school support

Teaching is carefully adapted to meet the needs of all learners, helping every child access learning in a way that is equitable, supportive and responsive. A range of in-school strategies and interventions further strengthens this support, including access to inclusion spaces and a sensory room, where students can take a movement break or enjoy a quiet moment to regulate and reset.

Randa

Our first year in Dubai wasn’t easy, as our daughter only spoke Italian. Thanks to Smart Vision School, she progressed step by step with the support, patience, and professionalism of the team. She quickly learned English, and we are truly grateful for the school’s expertise and care.
